Key Ingredients
Each 5 mL of Menthodex Cough Mixture contains:
- Ammonium Chloride (100 mg): Acts as an expectorant to help loosen mucus in the airways, facilitating a more productive cough.
- Sodium Citrate (50 mg): Functions as a mucolytic agent, thinning mucus to ease its expulsion.
- Levomenthol (7.75 mg): Provides a cooling sensation that soothes the throat and reduces irritation.
- Squill Tincture (0.001 mL): A traditional herbal extract known for its expectorant properties.
Additional ingredients include sucrose, glucose, ethanol, and methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218) as a preservative.
Indications
Menthodex Cough Mixture is indicated for the relief of:
- Dry, irritating coughs
- Chesty coughs with mucus
- Sore throats and throat irritation
- Nasal and bronchial congestion associated with colds and flu
Dosage Instructions
Adults and children over 14 years: Take two 5 mL spoonfuls (10 mL) up to four times daily.
Children aged 7 to 14 years: Take one 5 mL spoonful up to four times daily.
Note: Do not administer to children under 7 years of age.
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to any of the ingredients.
- Consult a healthcare professional before use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Avoid use if you have kidney problems.
- Contains ethanol; caution is advised when used with other medications that interact with alcohol.
